If you think homosexuality is wrong because of your religious beliefs, then you're doing it wrong. Religion is not meant to incite violence or hatred. And yes, I know about the passages in the Bible telling you to stone your wives and such, and the Koran has violent passages used today to encourage Jihads to strap bombs to themselves. But these passages are written back before the dark ages, when nobody could play nice with each other and so people (or deities, if you honestly think that's what happened) wrote these books to rally people together and give them something to believe in, and rule to behave by. Look at the ten commandments in the Bible- LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. I honestly think the Bible should be thinned of the outdated violence so the good passages can shine through and we can finally maybe get along a bit better.
Now to the whole being gay is unnatural. Snails and all bacteria reproduce asexually. NO SEX AT ALL. Are they unnatural? No. Odd, yes, but totally natural. There are animals that change gender and yes, there are animals that exhibit homosexual behavior. I can't picture anything that a human being does on his/her own as unnatural.... There are things that society shouldn't encourage (Pedophilia, BDSM, for example) only because they are harmful to others. I am not homosexual but have found myself defending the homosexual community more and more these days to the point of being completely done with debating it with anybody anymore. Some people just do not have the capacity to understand anything that doesn't directly involve them personally and you can give them undeniable fact after fact to prove them wrong for discriminating against homosexuality and it won't matter. These people are not concerned about what is right or wrong or what is better for everybody and nothing will change their mind because they were clueless about the facts to begin with and by throwing more facts at them will accomplish nothing. Unfortunately, it's a charictaristic you seem to have forgotten about. Yes, there was a contradiction, and that was also his/her point. Many people think of homosexuality and are disgusted by the image, yet do not have the EMPATHY to realize that others may have a much different perspective than you. The point is that although the thought may be repulsive, other thoughts must be taken into account. For example, if you were to explain heterosexual intercourse to a toddler, they would obviously be disgusted. That is, as many say, the "natural" way, yet the immature mind of a child does not recognize that and merely sees that it is repulsive to themselves alone. Obviously we do not see heterosexual sex as repulsive, but do you think the child sees that? By saying that you are repulsed by homosexuality and that you could never possibly defend it, you are revealing that you have a very immature and childlike world view. One point of view, yours, is not the only one that exists. You are not the only individual in the world. Children, having a low sense of individualism, cannot realize that there are other viewpoints apart from theirs. This is acceptable, for children. But for you, you who have had so many more years experience, this is extremely narcissistic and narrow minded. Empathy in it's purest sense is learning to see the world from anothers eyes. Learn it.

This is still discriminatory. Obviously, the person would be okay with straight people holding hands and kissing in public, but if they saw a gay couple doing the same, they would be "repulsed".
Most of the rights homosexuals are looking for are social ones! We want to be accepted, be seen equal to straight people! We want to be able to walk down the street holding hands with the ones we love on a bright sunny day and stop and kiss them on the corner. So what if Bruce and Dean feel like they never want to be apart and love one another? Love is beautiful (so I hear)! And if you are lucky enough to find it, then how can loving someone be wrong? I'll chose love over hate anyday. What the world really needs now is love. amiright? Love for your fellow man regardless of his race, sexual orientation or musical preference. (except Justin Beiber. Beiber fans should die off.)
Bottom line, what my next door neighbour does is none of my damn business. Unless he is a child molester or a murderer. And if he isn't a child molester or a murderer and he does something I don't like, for instance listen to Justin Beiber...well, I can just not talk to him and get on with my own life.

And for the record, I am a christian and at my church we believe it is a sin to judge others on their sins. I think someone mentioned that in a comment above. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Jesus loves the gay people in the world as much as he loves me. All of us are here for a reason we will never understand.
Now quit spreading hate and find a nice girl so you can feel what it's like to be in love. And then imagine people you don't even know hating you for it and trying to force you apart. Just not very nice.
